This is the new strip for the EP CON 2012 issue of Fusion Magazine. Pick this up at your Juarez, El Paso, and Las Cruces outlets. Print is not dead. Support your local analog media. The story behind this comic strip comes from some visual inspiration of a friend. This full story will be revealed in a full length story I’m currently working on. I want you to be a hard-boiled detective and use the visual clues to figure out the mystery for yourself. I’ve been watching a lot of David Lynch and reading early surrealist noir horror stories. We can find our path in the vision of our dreams as long as we can ride the cards fate deals us.This strip was drawn and inked by hand using some reference photos. I use a graphite pencil, non-photo blue pencil to sketch things in and set up my composition. I use a finer hard graphite mechanical pencil to work on shadows, light source, and detail. Then I ink with a #1 Winsor&Newton brush, with a special black ink, pen for small detail and Pro White for reverse inking. Stay tuned for more on the Nostomania story and visit my booth at EP CON 2012. We will have limited edition 18″x24″ prints of this comic strip and other illustrations of upcoming projects.
